Safety and guides
Who takes you out, and how
We do not run the trips ourselves. We book you with licensed local operators we know in person, and we have done their routes first.
Licensed local operators
Every partner is a registered active tourism company in the Canary Islands, with a signed contract with us. We can name the operator for any day before you book.
Guides
Qualified for the activity they lead: canyoning, mountain, diving or freediving instructors. They go first, set every rope and decide when conditions are not right.
Insurance
Each activity includes accident and civil liability insurance through the operator. If you want the policy details before booking, ask and we send them.
Equipment
Helmets, harnesses, ropes, wetsuits and dive gear are checked before every outing and replaced on schedule. You are fitted before you start, not on the way.
The safety brief
Every day starts with one, in a language you follow. On a rope that matters more than at a reception desk. Ask anything, as many times as you need.
Weather calls
The guide has the last word. If the forecast turns, we move the day. Nobody at WP-Journeys earns more by sending you out in bad conditions.
What we ask of you
Be honest about your fitness, your swimming and any health issue. Listen to the brief. Say so if something feels wrong: turning back is always allowed.
